The most important economic activity in El Lloar is the agriculture. The most abundant crop is the vineyard, followed by the olive and almond trees mainly in the unirrigated lands. There is a small area with vegetable gardens for private consumption. Another complement is the presence of some poultry farms. The wine that is produced there belongs to the "Denominació d'Origen Priorat" (a quality property). The Agricultural Cooperative was founded in 1939 under the name of
"Sindicat Agrícola". |
